Badals lost elections, Sukhbir accepts Punjabis’ mandate, congratulates AAP

Chandigarh: Punjab Assembly Elections results have stunned people and politician in the state with many senior political leaders from Congress, BJP and Akali Dal lost their elections from Aam Aadmi Party candidates with a significant margin, results declared on Thursday.

Shockingly, five time former chief minister of Punjab Parkash Singh Badal lost his elections from Lambi constituency while SAD President Sukhbir Singh Badal was also defeated by AAP’s Jagdeep Kamboj by securing 57439 votes in the Jalalabad constituency. Former cabinet minister Bikram Majithia also lost the elections from Amritsar East constituency.

Accepting mandate of voters, Sukhbir Badal wrote on Twitter, “We whole-heartedly & with total humility accept the mandate given by Punjabis. I am grateful to lakhs of Punjabis who placed their trust in us & to to SAD-BSP workers for their selfless toil. We will continue to serve them with humility in the role they have assigned to us.”

He further said that as president of @Akali_Dal_, I congratulate @AamAadmiParty, @AAPPunjab & their leader @BhagwantMann on their victory in Punjab poll. I offer them my sincerest good wishes for success and I am sure they will live up to the people’s expectations.
