Beer bottle in Chandigarh to get dearer by Rs 10 from April 1

Chandigarh: From April 1, booze lovers will have to pay extra money to buy liquor in Chandigarh as administration has increased minimum retail price of beer in the tricity.

The administration has hiked Rs 10 for strong and light beer (650 ml).

Different contractors charging Rs 100 for a 650ml beer bottle and another charged Rs 130 for it during this financial year. If such differences in prices continue in the next fiscal, the price would vary between Rs 110 to 150, said a contractor on the request of anonymity.

Meanwhile, 330 ml bottle will continue to have MSP of Rs 60 and 500ml will also remain unchanged at Rs 80 while price of super-mild beer also remains same Rs at 60 as last year.

The MSP price of country liquor has also been increased by Rs 10 to Rs 25, depending on the category.
