Gujarat: BJP legislative party on Sunday has elected Patidar leader and Ghatlodiya MLA Bhupendra Patel and he would swear-in as new chief minister of Gujarat.
The outgoing CM Vijay Rupani has proposed Patel’s name for the post.
Patel is a former chairman of AUDA and he won by a record margin in 2017 state elections, the highest for any segment. He is close aide of former CM Anandiben Patel, the incumbent UP Governor. He is MLA from Ghatlodiya and an engineer by qualification.
Agriculture minister Narendra Singh Tomar declared Bhupendra Patel elected and said that there is no parallel proposal.
