Ottawa: Following a stead rise in Covid-19 cases across the world, the Canadian government has decided to resume random coronavirus testing for travellers arriving by air into major four airports from July 19.
The authorities will conduct random testing at Vancouver, Montreal, Toronto and Calgary airports, according to the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC).
PHAC officials said that covid tets to be done regardless of vaccination status and tests would be completed outside the airports.
The tests could be in-person appointment at selected testing locations or a virtual appointment in which person to conduct a self-swab test.
Meanwhile, passengers who are not fully vaccinated they have to undergo a mandatory 14-day quarantine.
Earlier, the government of Canada had stopped random testing on June 11.
