Canada protest: Toronto police shut down roads

Toronto: The Toronto police have closed down some roads as the protesters continue to enter in downtown Toronto, here on Friday.

Demonstrators holding protest against COVID-19 health measures and city councillors assured people that they have been taking concrete measures to dwindle the impact as much as possible.

Police blocked trucks and tractors about 200 metres north of the legislature as taking measures to not exacerbate the situation.

Mike Layton, Kristyn Wong Tam and Joe Cressy, who all represent downtown wards, issued joint statement and reiterated that authorities are handling situation cautiously to solve the burning issue.

Meanwhile, College Street from University Avenue to Yonge Street. Queen’s Park Crescent from College Street to Bloor Street West. Queen Street West from Yonge Street to University Avenue. Bay Street from Bloor Street West to Queen Street and a few others have been closed for common public entry by the police and disperse protesting vehicle from the downtown core, through the city & safely on their way home.
