New Delhi: Congress veteran and former Punjab chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh on Wednesday met Home Minister Amit Shah at his residence to discuss the prevailing security scenario in the border state and the ongoing farmers’ agitation.
The meeting lasted for around one hour and indicates a huge political turmoil in the Punjab due to ongoing rift in the state and Captain’s recent resignation as state chief minister.
Met Union Home Minister @AmitShah ji in Delhi. Discussed the prolonged farmers agitation against #FarmLaws & urged him to resolve the crisis urgently with repeal of the laws & guarantee MSP, besides supporting Punjab in crop diversification. #NoFarmersNoFood, Captain wrote on his Twitter account.
There are rumours that Captain would join the BJP party and he would be allotted portfolio of agriculture minister in the Union government.
