Chandigarh: Former Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh on Tuesday announced formation of his own party ‘Punjab Lok Congress’.
He also submitted a seven-page resignation to Congress chief Sonia Gandhi and has resigned from Congress.
He was removed as Punjab CM last month and Singh blamed Congress command for repeatedly humiliated by the Congress high command over the past few months. PPC chief Navjot Sigh Sidhu had opened criticized Captain led government on various occasions following which many Congress leaders sought removal of Amarinder as CM. Later, Congress elevated Charanjit Singh Channi as new Punjab CM.
