Cash, gold worth Rs 390 crore seized in week-long IT raid in Maharashtra

New Delhi: The income tax department conducted raids in Jalna and Aurangabad in Maharashtra. In this raid, the Income Tax Department has recovered Rs 58 crore cash and 32 kg gold. It took the Income Tax Department 13 hours to count this cash.

The Income Tax Department conducted raids at SRJ Peety Steels Pvt. Ltd. and Kalika Steel Alloys Pvt. Ltd. In Jalna, 260 officials of the Income Tax Department conducted raids.

The operation was kept completely confidential. No official information was given to anyone about this. This action has taken place between August 1 and August 8.

This action has been carried out by the Nashik team of the Income Tax Department. This raid has been carried out by 260 employees of the Income Tax Department, 120 vehicles and 5 teams.

 

It took 13 hours to count cash

The cash found in this raid has been counted by taking it to the State Bank of Jalna. The cash counting work started at 11 am and went on till 1 am. The Income Tax Department had received information that there were irregularities in the behavior of 4 steel companies of Jalna. After this, the department came into action and raided the IT raid.
