Andhra Pradesh: A controversy erupted after Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP’s) Andhra Pradesh unit president Somu Veerraju has assured voters to provide liquor at Rs 70 if party gets one crore votes in the next state assembly elections.
The elections are due in 2024.
“If we have more revenue left, then, will provide liquor for just Rs 50,” Veerraju said while addressing a rally in Vijayawada.
The BJP is aiming to dislodge the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) government, headed by Jagan Mohan Reddy, in the next assembly elections.
