Chandigarh: The special CBI court in Panchkula on Friday convicted Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim and four others in former Dera manager Ranjit Singh’s murder case.
He was sentenced under sections 302, 120B of IPC and the quantum of sentence will be pronounced on October 12.
Other accused have been identified as Avtar Singh, Dera manager Krishan Lal and shooters Jasbir Singh and Sabdil Singh. Another accused Inder Sain passed away in October 2020.
The Dera chief has already been sentenced to 20 years of imprisonment, in August 2017, for raping two women followers and for murdering a journalist.
