New Delhi: Now big hospitals in the country will also be able to open their own medical colleges as the centre government has asked the Charity hospitals in the country to open medical colleges to provide quality and affordable medical education.
Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said, he held a meeting with 62 Charity Hospitals in this regard. He assured to relax some rules from the big hospitals of the country.
In this meeting, there was a discussion about opening medical colleges in hospitals. The Health Ministry has taken this step keeping in mind the increase in MBBS seats and students studying outside. The motive behind this is to make medical education affordable in the country.
The Union Health Minister had requested big hospitals to come to medical education. For this, the central government has prepared to relax many rules like land and long paper work to open medical colleges to big hospitals.
Hospitals like Jaslok, Breach Candy, Kokilaben, Sathya Sai Hospitals and Apollo have attended the health ministry meeting.
