Chandigarh powermen on three-day strike from February 22, power went off in many areas

Chandigarh: With the Electricity Department went on a three-day strike in protest against the privatisation of the department, many areas of the Chandigarh faced disruption in the power supply.

Residents said that electricity went off after midnight ans the issue is yet to be resolved by electricity officials as they did not pay heed to repeated complaints citing that they are no strike.

The National Coordination Committee of Electricity Employees and Engineers (NCCOEEE) and employees from Punjab, Haryana and Himachal may join thr stir as protesting employees threatened to extend the strike for an indefinite period in case the transition is not stopped.

Meanwhile, UT electricity department has has alerted the Chandigarh municipal corporation regarding the three-day strike and urged them to arrange the required workforce to manage the affairs.
