Chandigarh: India on Sunday reported three more cases of the new COVID-19 variant Omicron, taking the tally to 36.
The first variant of this deadly virus has been reported in Chandigarh and Andhra Pradesh while third case recorded in Karnataka.
A 20-year-old man with a recent travel history abroad, who had come to meet his relatives, has tested positive for Omicron, becoming the first patient of the new COVID-19 variant in Chandigarh, health department officials said on Sunday.
With the first case in Andhra Pradesh, India’s Omicron tally has gone up to 34. Maharashtra has reported the highest number of cases at 17.
