Chandigarh: There has been a new revelation in the case of leaking objectionable videos of students of Chandigarh University located in Mohali, Punjab. The counsel for the accused has admitted in the court that the accused student has made a video of another student’s washroom but it is not objectionable. The police have also feared the involvement of a fourth person in this case, who was blackmailing the accused student.
Earlier, the police had said that no video of any other girl had been made. Yesterday, three accused in this case were presented in the court, after which all three were sent on 7-day police remand.
A video of a girl student was leaked from a hostel of Chandigarh University in the private sector. After this incident, there was a huge protest in the campus for two days. At present, the students’ protests have calmed down, but the university has been announced to be closed till Saturday. Many students from nearby cities have gone to their respective homes.
The girl students allege that a student living in her hostel made private videos of 60 girl students and sent them to her boyfriend living in Shimla. He also alleges that some of those videos have been uploaded on social media and porn websites.
However, Mohali Police has denied this. Police say that the accused student had only recorded her video and sent it to her boyfriend. Police have said that no other video of any other girl has been found in the investigation. According to the police, the rumor spread caused panic among the students and protests took place in the university.
