New Delhi: An FIR was lodged in connection with the cyber attack at AIIMS Hospital in Delhi. It was said that this cyber attack was done by hackers from China.

Of the 100 servers of the hospital, 40 were physically and 60 were virtually hacked. The data of five of these servers has been successfully recovered from hackers. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) said on Wednesday.

On November 25, the Intelligence Fusion and Strategic Operations (IFSO) unit of the Delhi Police registered a case of extortion and cyber terrorism. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is now investigating the target ransomware attack. Along with the NIA, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and the Delhi Cyber Crime Cell, Indian Cyber Crime Coordination, Intelligence Bureau, Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) are also investigating the cyber attack.

AIIMS Delhi first reported a malfunction in its server on November 23. Two analysts posted to look after the server have also been suspended for alleged cybersecurity breaches. In a statement issued, AIIMS officials said the e-hospital data has been restored.

The network is being cleaned before services are restored. The process is taking some time due to the amount of data and the large number of servers/computers for hospital services. Measures are being taken for cyber security, officials said.
