Chandigarh: Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi has lost the elections from both assembly seats in the results declared on Thursday.
Channi lost the elections with a margin of over 37, 000 from Bhadaur constituency while his faced defeat from his home turf Chamkaur Sahib with over 7500 votes.
Channi became CM on September 20, 2021 after Captain Amarinder Singh resigned from his post. He had won previous three polls from Chamkaur Sahib constituency.
“I humbly accept the verdict of the people of Punjab and Congratulate @AamAadmiParty and their elected CM @BhagwantMann Ji for the victory. I hope they will deliver on the expections of people,” Channi wrote on his Twitter handle.
