Chandigarh: Days after taking oath at ancestral village of freedom fighter Bhagat Singh in SBS district, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann today declared a public holiday on March 23, which will be celebrated as ‘Shaheed Diwas’.
Earlier, during Punjab Vidhan Sabha session, members paid tributes to Gen SF Rodrigues; Ramesh Dutt Sharma, a former minister; Ajit Singh, a former MLA; Harbans Singh, a former MLA and 8 freedom fighters besides some others.
The installation of BR Ambedkar and Bhagat Singh’s status in the Vidhan Sabha has also been approved.
