Chandigarh: Upbeat by its tremendous success in recently held Punjab elections, Aam Aadmi Party is now eying to perform well in the local body elections due year-end.
Four of the largest Municipal Corporations including Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Amritsar, Jalandhar and Patiala will go to polls in December this year.
To formulate strategies, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann today hels meeting Punjab affairs Jarnail Singh and discussed the Aam Aadmi Party structure at the grass root level and how it could be strengthen before MC polls, a senior party leader said.
The party has assigned the task to oversee the MC polls to Jarnail Singh, who did well during recently held Chandigarh MC polls.
It is crucial for AAP to perform well in the MC polls so that they would reach out to the grassroot level and strengthen party’s base further in the state.
