Congress infighting: ‘Two batsmen on same crease’ says Union defense minister Rajnath

Chandigarh: Taking a dig at infighting within Congress, Union defense minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday said that it is like there are two batsmen in Congress right now.

“Both of them want to be at same crease, neither of them ready to be in the non-striker end. Both batsmen were fighting on a single crease (CM Post), he said adding that both will surely get “out”, he said while pointing out at tussle between CM Channi and PCC chief Navjot Singh Sidhu.

He further said that Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi is a commander without his soldiers.

Channi has adopted divide and rule politics, said Union defense minister, while lambasting him over his contentious ‘UP, Bihar ke bhaiya’ remark.

“Punjab is land of Guru Nanak, who emphasised the concept of universal brotherhood, patience, contentment, love and also believe in welfare of all. But CM Charanjit Singh Channi and Congress is doing politics of divide and rule as they wanted to divide the country,” said Rajnath here while campaigning for candidates of NDA .

“BJP is following teachings of Guru Nanak Dev ji with Sabka Saath-Sabka Vikas-Sabka Vishwas” (everyone’s support, everyone’s development and everyone’s trust), but Congress wanted to disturb communal harmony. I will see who will dare to stop ‘bhaiyas’ from entering in Punjab. Everyone can move freely in this country,” he said.

Calling that Punjab, the border state, need a decisive leader like Narendra Modi, Union minister said that when 2019 Pulwama attack occurred, Modi immediately held a meeting and took a decision in 10 minutes to launch a surgical strike in Pakistan to take vengeance of our soldiers’ supreme sacrifices. However, Congress’s CM had even failed to provide a safe passage to its PM during his visit last month in Punjab, he said.
