Washington: President Joe Biden said that he is planning to lift travel restrictions on people arriving from southern African countries.
The US had imposed a travel ban after the omicron variant of coronavirus was first identified in southern African countries.
“I’m going to talk with my team in the next couple days and considering lifting the ban,” Biden told reporters at the White House on Tuesday.
He said his health advisers had suggested he reconsider the ban.
