Controversial remark on Prophet: Indian High Commissioner summoned by Pakistan, Saudi Arabia attacks BJP

New Delhi: After Qatar, Iran and Kuwait, now Saudi Arabia has also criticised BJP leader Nupur Sharma’s controversial remarks against prophet Mohammed today.

Saudi Arabia’s foreign ministry has issued a statement condemning the BJP spokesperson’s comments and said it has insulted the Prophet Mohammed. Meanwhile, Pakistan today said it has summoned the Indian High Commissioner to register its protest against the controversial remarks of two BJP leaders against Prophet Muhammad.

The Foreign Office said through a statement that the Indian ambassador has been told that the statement cannot be accepted. This has hurt the sentiments of not only the people of Pakistan but also of Muslims across the world.

The BJP in New Delhi has suspended its national spokesperson Nupur Sharma from the party for his controversial remarks on Prophet Mohammad. The BJP leadership has also decided to expel Delhi unit media chief Naveen Kumar Jindal from the party.
