Covid-19: EU removes air travel face mask mandate

New Delhi: Following dwindling rate of Covid-19 infections across the globe, EU Aviation Safety Agency (Easa) announced that now face masks shall not be mandatory to be worn on flights and in airports in EU countries from next Monday.

According to fresh official guidance by Easa, the move has been taken after changing anti-Covid policies on public transport across Europe and rules have now been relaxed in France, Italy and Bulgaria country.

“From next week, face masks will no longer need to be mandatory in air travel in all cases, broadly aligning with the

changing requirements of national authorities across Europe for public transport,” EASA executive director Patrick Ky said.
