Covid may change body’s response to other diseases: Study

Washington: Covid-19 can trigger a strong immune response in men, which may lead to changes in their regular immune system long after recovering, according to a new study. This has been revealed in a study.

Scientists have long believed that the immune system comes back to a stable level after a viral infection. However, a recent study published in the journal Nature has shown that it depends on the gender of the person.

The researchers, including those from the US National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, systematically analysed the immune responses of people who received flu vaccines.

They then compared this analysis to the immune responses of two types of people. On the one hand were people who were never infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus, the father of Covid-19, and on the other, there were people who contracted covid-19 mildly but recovered from it.

The team found that the immune systems of men who recovered from mild covid-19 infection responded stronger to flu vaccines than women.

“It’s absolutely amazing,” said John Tsang, an immunobiologist at Yale University in the US.
