New Delhi: Former JNU students’ union president and CPI leader Kanhaiya Kumar, along with Gujarat MLA Jignesh Mewani will join the join the Indian National Congress (INC) in presence of Rahuld Gandhi on 28 September.
Recent reports had stated that Kumar met Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to discuss the matter and their will join the party next week.
Kanhaiya Kumar will serve as an important young face of the party in Bihar and will also have a national role to play, media reports said.
Kanhaiya Kumar is an Indian political activist who served as the president of the Jawaharlal Nehru University Students’ Union and National leader of the All India Students Federation (AISF). He is currently serving as a National Executive Council member of Communist Party of India.
