DCGI grants emergency use nod for use in children between 5 and 12

New Delhi: Amid an uptick in Covid-19 cases im the country, the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) approved emergency use authorisation (EUA) to Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin for children between the age of 6-12 years.

This development comes after the Subject Expert Committee DCGI asked Bharat Biotech for additional data on its coronavirus vaccine for administering it to children aged between 2-12 years.

Meanwhile, over 192.88 crore (1,92,88,44,535) vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far through Govt. of India (free of cost channel) and through direct state procurement category.

More than 19.70 Cr (19,70,98,585) balance and unutilized COVID Vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs to be administered.
