New Delhi: In a bid to control exacerbating pollution in the national capital, Delhi government has decided to scrap its old petrol and diesel vehicles by replacing it with electric ones.
The General Administration Department (GAD) has recently procured 12 electric vehicles for official use of ministers and top administration officials. It is said that top-brass has asked officials to replace their all officials vehicles with electric vehicles to control air pollution.
The use of diesel vehicle older than 10 years and petrol vehicles older than 15 years are banned in Delhi.
Earlier, Delhi government had directed all its departments to hire or purchase purchase only electric vehicles for their fleets.
