Delhi HC issues notice to CBI, seeks response on Manish Sisodia’s bail plea

New Delhi: The Delhi High Court on Thursday sought a response from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on the Delhi Excise Policy issue after hearing the bail plea of former minister Manish Sisodia.

The Delhi High Court has fixed April 20 as the next date of hearing in the case. Sisodia was arrested by the CBI on February 26, 2023. Currently, he is in judicial custody.

Sisodia had challenged the order of the Rouse Avenue Court in a case related to alleged irregularities in the excise policy of the Delhi government.

On March 31, Special Judge MK Nagpal of Rouse Avenue Court had rejected the bail plea of former Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia in cases related to excise policy.

The court had said that prima facie Manish Sisodia appeared to be a criminal conspiracy. At this time, his release may affect the ongoing investigation.
