Delhi Jal Board withdraws Ramzan break after BJP’s protest

New Delhi: Delhi Jal Board on Tuesday has withdrawn two hours break daily to all Muslims employees during Ramzan with an immediate effect.

The board issued today read, “A Circular was issued on April 4, 2022, for short leave about two hours to all Muslim employees during the days of Ramzan. Now, the Competent Authority has decided to withdraw the above said Circular with immediate effect.”

The move came after a fierce protest by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers against the decision.

Earlier, board allowed a short leave to Muslim employees considering pious annual Ramzan month from April 3 to May 2 or till the date of Idu’l fitr is declared.
