Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today announced a reward of Rs 1 crore to each player of the Indian team for winning the FIH Men’s Hockey World Cup.
Patnaik, who is on a visit to Rourkela, also inaugurated the ‘World Cup Village’ at the Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium complex. On the occasion, the Chief Minister interacted with the Indian men’s hockey team, which was staying at the World Cup village.

Naveen Patnaik said, “If our country wins the World Cup, then each player of the Indian team will be given a reward of One crore rupees. I congratulate Team India and hope that they come out as champions. On the occasion, the players lauded the Odisha government for developing the “entire ecosystem” for hockey and thanked the Chief Minister.
It is worth mentioning that the World Cup village record has been prepared in 9 months. It has 225 rooms with all the facilities as per the level of the Hockey World Cup. The teams and officials playing in the upcoming Hockey World Cup will stay in the World Cup village
