FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup: USA defeat India by 8-0

New Delhi: The FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup has begun. There were four matches on Tuesday, including host India played the match.

The Indian team competed with World No. 1 America. This was India’s debut match in the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup but Indian team had to face a crushing defeat and US team beat India 8-0.

Within the first half an hour of this Group-A match, the Indian team was behind by four goals. By half-time, the United States took a 5-0 lead. The team showed the mirror to the host country’s World Cup preparations by scoring three more goals in the second half.

American players rain goals

Melina Rebimbas (9th, 31st minutes), Charlotte Kohler (15th), Oneca Gamerero (23rd), Gisele Thompson (39th), Ela Emery (51st), Taylor Suarez (59th) and captain Mia Bhuta (62nd) scored a goal each.

Indian team

India’s head coach Thomas Dennerby had said before the match that the Indian team has been preparing for the World Cup for a long time and it will not be easy to score against the team. However, during the match, the Indian players were not seen competing with the opponent team from anywhere.

Next match on October 14

In the first half, the United States kept the ball under their control for 70 percent of the time. During this time, the Indian team could penetrate the American defense only twice, but not once did the shot of their players reach the goal-post. India will now play Morocco on October 14 and Brazil on October 17.
