Washington: At least, five people have been killed and six others have been hospitalized in a shooting incident in downtown Louisville on Monday morning.

A Louisville police spokesman told a media briefing that a police officer was among the injured, another tweet said, adding that the suspected shooter had been shot.

A 25-year-old gunman, who was identified as bank employee, shot dead by police. There is no danger to the common people now, police said.

Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear earlier tweeted about the incident that he was heading to the scene of the incident, writing that “please pray for all the affected families and the city of Louisville.”

There have been several incidents of shootings in the US in recent times. A few days ago, a female attacker had carried out a shooting incident at an elementary school in Nashville.

According to officials and media reports, six people, including three children, were killed in the incident. The school where the incident took place was a pre-school. All the children studying in it were under the age of 12 years.
