Ford Motor to shut down both its manufacturing plants in India

New Delhi: United States major Ford Motor Co would shut down its two manufacturing plants in the India and they will only sell imported vehicles in the country as part of a restricting exercise.
The company has invested about USD 2.5 billion at its Chennai, Sanand plants will halt the production of vehicle including the EcoSport, Figo and Aspire which are produced from these plants.
Moreover, they will soon sell imported vehicles like Mustang in the country.
A formal announcement by the company is expected soon, however, a person in the know of the development said that this is a restructuring decision, where the company will shift to imported vehicles.
