Chandigarh: Former Congress MLA from Ferozepur Parminder Pinki has approached the Punjab and Haryana High Court seeking his security cover from Punjab police citing that he is under threat from terrorists.

He alleged that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Punjab has recently withdrawn his security. This has put his life in danger. The HC has summoned a response from the Punjab government on his plea.

It may be mentioned that Parminder Pinki was given Z category security by the Punjab government. Pinky had 28 policemen and 1 pilot. The Mann government took stock of this. It was then said that there is no particular threat to Pinky. So they will be given protection under pre-decided rules. The Mann government took back 26 gunmen and pilots from Pinki, wielding scissors on VIP security. Now they are left with only 2 policemen.
