Moga: Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) expelled former Moga MLA Joginder Pal Jain and his son Akshit Jain, a former Mayor of Moga Corporation and four other local leaders for their anti party activities.
Joginder Jain was elected as MLA thrice, including bypoll election of 2013. He won from Congress ticket in 2007 and 2012. Later, he joined SAD and won 2013 bypoll election.
He was away from active politics for last a few years due to health issues.
According to sources the Jain and Brar family was not on same page since the joining of Joginder Pal Jain into the party.
Other leaders are Jagdeep Singh Gatra, former president of district youth Akali Dal, Parget Singh, former vice president of district youth Akali Dal, Veerbhan Dhan, former councillor and Dr Sharanpreet Singh Micky Gill.
Tirath Singh Mahla, president of SAD’s district unit and Barjinder Singh alias, Makhan Brar, akali candidate from Moga, said that these leaders have been expelled from party with immediate effect.
