Islamabad: Top investigation agency of Pakistan has initiated an inquiry against former Prime Minister Imran Khan for allegedly selling an expensive necklace received as a gift when he was country’s PM.
According to the information, Khan had sold that necklace to a jeweller for Rs 18 crore and did not deposit it to the state gift repository.
As per the rules, the necklace received as a gift should be sent to the tosha-khana (state gift repository), but it was given to former special assistant Zulfikar Bukhari and he sold it in Lahore.
FIA launched an investigation into the matter and PM might be summoned for joining the investigation, media reports said.
