Four cases of Omicron sub-variant BF.7, caused havoc in China, detected in India

New Delhi: The increasing cases of corona in China have increased concern all over the world, including India.

According to information, four BF.7 variants, which currently caused havoc in China, have been found in India. This variant has been found in Gujarat and Odisha.

In India, all these variants have been found to have one case in July, second in September and one in November. The BF7 variant is a sub-lineage of BA.5.

According to the information, the 61-year-old woman living in Subhanpura area of Vadodara city of Gujarat came from the US on September 11, 2022 and was found to be COVID-19 positive on September 18. The patient had taken three doses of Pfizer vaccine and was in home isolation. The woman’s sample was sent to Gandhinagar for genome sequencing and the result of genome sequencing for BF.7 sub-variant came today.

The patient’s health is fine. According to the guidelines, three people of his ‘close contact’ were also tested while testing positive for Covid, whose report has come negative.

The central government is keeping an eye on corona cases. Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya today held a review meeting on the pandemic situation with top officials and experts in this regard.
