New Delhi: In a set back to Congress party, sulking Gujarat Congress leader Hardik Patel on Wednesday announced to quit Congress party amid infighting in the party in The Gujarat ahead of assembly elections.
Patel had submitted his registration to party President Sonia Gandhi and wrote on Twitter while sharing the resignation letter that he is gathering courage to resign from the Congress party and all posts.
He said that he is sure that his decision would be welcomed by his colleagues and the Gujarat’s people. Following this step, he would be able to work really positively for Gujarat in future, he added.
Patel had not attended the three-day brainstorming session of the Congress top brass in Udaipur, on May 15. Now, Patel had left the option to join Aam Aadmi Party while BJP is also trying to convince him to join the party ahead of crucial state elections.
