Varanasi: A local court will pronounce on November 14 a verdict on the ‘carbon dating’ of the structure found in the Gyanvapi mosque complex, which is claimed to be a ‘Shivling’. It is noteworthy that a petition was filed in the court to get carbon dating of the structure done. The Hindu petitioner parties, during a court-monitored video survey, had claimed that a ‘Shivling’ was found in the pond of the mosque.
The Muslim parties had rejected the claim saying it was not a Shivling but a fountain. The hearing on the petition concluded today and the court said that the verdict will be pronounced on October 14.
