Delivering the verdict in the Gyanvapi Adornment Gauri dispute case on Monday, a single-judge bench of District Judge A K Vishwesh said the matter was maintainable.

Vishnu Shankar Jain, counsel for the Hindu side, said that the court has accepted our argument. The application of the Muslim side has been rejected. The court has said that the petition is maintainable. The matter will now come up for further hearing on September 22.

Petitioner Sohan Lal Arya said that this is a victory of the Hindu community. Today is the day of foundation stone for Gyanvapi temple. We appeal to the people to maintain peace.

After the verdict in favor of the Hindu side, now the Muslim side will challenge it in the High Court.

Maulvi Maulana Khalid Rasheed said that during the judgment of Babri Masjid, what the Supreme Court had said while referring to the Worship Act, it seemed that now the issue of temple-mosque has ended in the country, but despite that issues are coming up in this way. Our legal team will study and take the next step. People have been offering namaz there for hundreds of years. Everyone should keep peace because it is a legal issue, which has to be decided in the court itself.
