Chandigarh: Having played a key role as the pointsperson between Rahul Gandhi and Punjab Congress leaders during recent developments in the state, Rajasthan minister Harish Chaudhary has been appointed as the new Punjab Affairs incharge, in place of Harish Rawat, on Friday.
He is a Member of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly from Baytu constituency Barmer district in Rajasthan as an Indian National Congress party candidate which he won in the 2018 legislative assembly elections. He had won Lok Sabha elections in 2009 from the Barmer-Jaisalmer constituency in Rajasthan.But in 2014 elections, he came third in Barmer constituency. He is a former National Secretary of the All India Congress Committee.
