Quetta: Heavy rains in southwest Pakistan and other parts of the country have killed at least nine people, including women and children today.
According to the Disaster Management Agency, seven people were killed when the roofs of houses collapsed due to heavy rains in Quetta, the capital of southwestern Balochistan.
In addition, two bodies washed away in the floods have been recovered near the dam. Many people have gone missing due to overnight floods in remote areas, leading to fears of an increase in deaths.
The torrential rains that started on Monday continued on Tuesday, damaging dozens of houses in Balochistan, officials said. Rains have killed 38 people and damaged more than 200 homes across the country, including Balochistan, since June. In the past few days, a bus slipped and fell into a ravine due to heavy rains in Balochistan, killing 19 people on board.
