Himachal Pradesh: Sukhu Cabinet expanded, Governor administers oath to seven new ministers

New Delhi: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Sunday expanded his cabinet. The governor administered the oath of office and secrecy to the seven new ministers who joined the cabinet. Earlier, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Sukhu and Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri took oath.

With the formation of the Congress government in Himachal Pradesh and Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu taking oath as CM, there was speculation about the cabinet.

Although the selection of ministers for the Sukhu cabinet was considered to be a tough one due to infighting in the party, now seven new ministers have been inducted in the Sukhu cabinet of Himachal Pradesh.

With the induction of seven ministers in the Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu-led Himachal Pradesh council of ministers, the total number of ministers has now gone up to nine. Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar administered the oath to the newly-appointed ministers at a ceremony at Raj Bhavan.

The newly inducted ministers include Dhaniram Shandil, MLA from Solan, Chander Kumar from Jawali in Kangra district, Harshvardhan Chauhan from Shillai in Sirmaur district and Jagat Singh Negi from tribal Kinnaur district. Rohit Thakur, Anirudh Singh and Vikramaditya Singh, who are MLAs from Jubbal-Kotkhai, Kasumpti and Shimla (Rural) respectively, have also got a place in the council of ministers.
