Historic fall in rupee, slashes to below Rs 80 per dollar for the first time

New Delhi: The rupee has shown a low of 80 rupees per dollar in opening against the dollar for the first time. These psychological levels were showing signs of breaking down for several days, but today the rupee has gone below Rs 80 per dollar and put the currency traders in great despair.

At the same time, the rupee is seen trading with a huge fall of 7 per cent this year.

 

How did the rupee start?

In the opening trade, the rupee had touched a low of Rs 80.01 per dollar, while yesterday it had closed at Rs 79.97 per dollar. Today, the rupee touched a low of Rs 80.05 per dollar.

 

The rupee value shows fluctuations today

In early trade today, the rupee had gone down to the level of 80.05 rupees per dollar, but now it is seeing a rise of 11 paise. At 9.56 am, the rupee gone 11 paise, to 79.94 against the dollar.
