On September 28, workers working in the three-storey building on Deschamps Avenue found the human remains.

On September 29, a statement was issued by the police that when the work of digging the land for this building was being done, the workers found something like a human remains here. The Ottawa Police Service Homicide Unit on Sunday identified the human cage as Mary Papatsi.

Papatsi was 39 years old when she went missing in 2017. Papatsi was last seen alive on April 27, 2017, in vanier area, police said.

The police issued a statement and shared their grief with the family and relatives of the papacy.
