Toronto: Hundreds of flights were canceled by Toronto Pearson International Airport due to heavy snowfall.

The airport said 25.8 per cent of the flights departing from here have been cancelled and 26 per cent of the flights arriving here have also been cancelled. In all, 106 departures and 106 arrivals have been cancelled.

Dozens more flights are likely to be cancelled by the evening due to snowfall around 20 cm and many flights may be delayed.

Toronto Pearson is advising passengers to check the status of their flight on the airport website or from their airline before leaving for the airport.

Air Canada says travelers can also make changes to their flight because travel advisories are effective in southern Ontario.
