New Delhi: The recent clean sweep of Sri Lanka has had major ramifications on the MRF Tyres ICC Men’s T20I Player Rankings with attacking top-order batter Shreyas Iyer jumping a massive 27 spots in the latest rankings.
Iyer scored three unbeaten half-centuries during India’s 3-0 rout of Sri Lanka last month, with the 27-year-old amassing an impressive 204 runs at a strike rate of 174.
His efforts helped him jump 27 places to 18th on the latest batter rankings, while team-mate Bhuvneshwar Kumar jumped three spots to 17th on the bowler rankings.
The news wasn’t so good for skipper Rohit Sharma, who dropped two spots to 13th on the rankings after managing just 50 runs from three hits against Sri Lanka.
