Nagpur: In the first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, India defeated Australia by an innings and 132 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the four-match series.
In the second innings, one of the Australian batsmen did not run. Ashwin took 5 wickets for India. Earlier, Akshar Patel’s 84 helped India take a 223-run lead by scoring 400 runs in the first innings on the third day of the first cricket Test against Australia today.
After captain Rohit Sharma’s 120 runs, Ravindra Jadeja scored 70 and Akshar scored 84 runs. Akshar scored these runs in 174 balls with the help of ten fours and a six and was the last batsman to be dismissed. For Australia, off-spinner Todd Murphy took seven wickets for 124 runs in 47 overs.
