India concerned about growing pro-Khalistan base and moment in Canada: Officials

Ottawa: India is concerned about rising growth of pro-Khalistan movement in Canada, mainly enhanced linkage with organised and notorious criminal that operate in India and Canada.

Indian officials reportedly shared these inputs with Canada authorities and said that there are at least eight such prominent gangs in the country presently and they are directly indulged in anti-India activities.

Officials, however, did not specify names of gangs or gangsters during ongoing conversation between India’s National Investigation Agency and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

Indian authorities expressed concern over emerging reality of gangsters in Canada securing ties with Khalistani groups, a senior official said adding that they have a strong connection in India and Canada.

Meanwhile, the officials also mentioned the killing of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala in May 29 and linked it to gang mushrooming in Canada as how a leader of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, Goldy Brar apparently in Canada at present, took responsibility of his killing on the social media.
