Washington: Former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley is going to run for president of the United States. Nikki Haley, an Indian-origin leader, is expected to announce her run for president from the Republican Party in February. The US presidential election will be held in 2024.

Nikki Haley has been governor of South Carolina in the US. Talking about her preparations to run for president, a person close to her has confirmed that she will enter the race by making an announcement in Charleston on February 15.

Haley, 51, is poised to become the second leading candidate in the race after former President Donald Trump, who hinted at his return in November. If Haley actually announces her decision to contest, she will represent a change. Haley had announced in 2021 that she would not run for president if Trump ran.

But Haley outlined the change in her planning in an interview with Fox News earlier this month, saying, “It’s bigger than one person, and when you’re looking at the future of America, I think it’s time for a new generation of change. I don’t think you have to be 80 years old to be a leader in Washington DC.”
