Indian high commission resumes Walk-in services for travel in Canada

Toronto: In order to provide better visa and counselor services, walk-in applications will be allowed for documentation related to travel to India from February 1, nearly three years after it was stopped due to Covid-19 pandemic.

Applicants who need visa, OCI, passport or other consular services can personally visit at the centres operated by BLS and submit their applications and related documents using walk-in mode without any pre-requisite appointment, a release from the high commission said.

Walk-in services have been started separately apart from appointment and postal service and will continue to do so. The resources available at each centre and the appointments booked daily will depend on how many such applicants will be able to avail such walk-in services from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm daily. The number of such walk-in applicants will be limited.

The BLS centres will issue tokens to such walk-in applicants and serve them on the same day within 30 minutes of their arrival at the centre. It should also be noted that if you are not issued a token within 30 minutes of arriving at your center, you may choose to come on another date and get the work done, or choose an alternative way to submit your application and related documents.

All applicants are advised that only complete applications in all respects will be accepted at BLS centres.

Those who have already booked an appointment to submit their applications but now want to use the walk-in facility, they are requested to cancel their earlier appointment after their application is accepted so that the appointment can be provided to any other aspirant to get the counselor services.
